Life has never been easy for the three Campbell sisters. Jess, Courtney, and Dani live on a remote ranch where they work hard and try to stay out of the way of their father's temper. As events spiral out of control they find themselves in a horrifying situation and are left with no choice but to change their names and create new lives.
Eighteen years later, they are still trying to forget what happened to them. But when one of the sisters goes missing, followed closely by her niece, they are pulled back into the past. And this time there's nowhere left to run...

Kat’s Review: Wow, this was one of those books I didn’t want to put down. I have only read one other Chevy Stevens and was looking forward to reading this one. It starts out by introducing you to the three girls Jess, Courtney and Dani. The first few pages are a little bit heart-wrenching as you see them try to deal with their father who has a quick temper. When a fight with their father gets out of hand one night the three girls literally run for their lives. At this very early stage of the book I had already fallen a little bit in love with these poor girls and was rooting for them to get themselves on a different path.
As I became more and more engrossed in their story it seemed like things just couldn’t get any worse for these girls, however, as suspected it really did. The story although maybe not a Thriller as such, was still packed to the gills with drama, tension and outright anxiousness on my part. I was totally engrossed and as the book progressed it became almost an obsession to continue reading. The story progresses then from the girls younger years to their lives maybe 15 years later. The departure from young to older was done seamlessly and it seemed like the stories natural progression.
As the story introduced other characters I became (if at all possible), even more engrossed and the story just felt like it was constantly veering down a slippery slope of danger. It’s incredibly hard to say much more, without the fear of ruining the story. Although not a traditional ‘thriller’ type of book I absolutely loved this book (can you tell?). I was seriously hooked and it made such a refreshing change to read this type of story. This was certainly a book that I would highly recommend and has cemented Chevy Stevens as a MUST read author for me in the future. An amazing read!
